Testing Devlog

Game Feedback Report

Introduction

This Devlog will introduce the feedback we received when testing the game. During testing, we placed the link in the channel in advance to facilitate testers' evaluation. During testing, we encouraged testers to share their screens so that we can quickly provide feedback when problems arise. At the same time, we also prepared a Google Form to help testers provide feedback more intuitively.

Testing Results

What we saw / noticed

  • More visuals for deactivate parts
  • button get pressed down
  • Respawn platform clearer
  • Tilter block was too hard

Feedback

What they said

  • Maybe colour coded the puzzles
  • Some levels felt really long in comparison to others
    • Shorter levels were more favoured
  • Sound was too loud (thankfully we had working sliders to partially fix this)
  • Camera should be higher
  • The coins should be collectable
  • The Narrow Maze was too hard
  • SFX for button presses
  • Camera clipping

Our Fixes

What we are go

  • Make coins collectable (in doing so fixing the pinko level)
  • In the tutorial, move first buttons out from edge to increase visibility
  • Shorten some levels
  • Swap Narrow Maze's area 1 and area 2

Conclusion

Feedback from our testing sessions provided us with valuable insights into areas for improvement. We observed specific issues such as the need for more visual cues and clearer respawn platforms. Testers suggested improvements including colour coding puzzles, adjusting volume, improving camera position, making coins collectible, and adding sound effects for button presses.

To address these issues, we plan to implement several fixes including making coins collectible, improving button visibility in the tutorial, and adjusting the layout of narrow mazes. These changes are intended to enhance the overall gameplay experience and address difficulties and frustrations observed during testing.
